On Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., the Hempfield High School Cafeteria will host an Empty Bowl Event, a heartfelt initiative to raise awareness about hunger in both our nation and local communities. This incredible fundraiser, led by the Hempfield Area School District, Mud Pottery Club, and National Art Honors Society, is entirely volunteer-driven, ensuring every dollar goes directly to the cause.
What to Expect:
- For a $20 admission fee (tickets available at the door), you'll receive a beautifully handcrafted bowl created by local artists, students, and community members.
- Enjoy a simple yet delicious meal of soup and bread, generously donated by local restaurants and bakeries.
- Participate in a basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, and the chance to bid on special items!
- Be entertained by live music and explore a student art show throughout the event.
All proceeds benefit the Westmoreland Food Bank, helping to combat hunger in our region.
The Westmoreland Food Bank’s mission is to enable our neighbors in Westmoreland County to have ready access to food. In 2023 the Westmoreland Food Bank served over 13,000 households and distributed over 6.3 million pounds of food through partner food pantries, meal programs, and specialty programs for seniors, veterans, and children.
